Catfish are biting in the bays and creeks in 8 to 15 feet of water and cut bait is working best. They are starting to be caught in Little River and The Chattooga River on live shad downed lined and free lined. Shooting docks with jigs is also producing some fish, Spider rigging with live minnows over deep brush is catching fish. They have spawned and have started moving back to deeper water, they can be caught long line trolling with Jiffy Jigs in colors JJ13, JJ17, JJ20. The Carolina rigs and crank baits are catching fish. Top water baits such as Pop R’s, Zara Spooks and buzz baits can be extremely effective for shallow and aggressive fish especially around bream beds.
